Study in Cyprus to get good European degrees at low fees. The country is safe and friendly, and it is easy for students to settle down. Also, Cyprus has simple entry rules and a helpful study system. Because of this, students adjust quickly. In addition, living costs are lower than in many EU countries. So, Cyprus becomes a better and cheaper choice. Moreover, students can work part-time while studying too. It helps them gain experience and manage their daily expenses.
International students can work 20 hours every week during classes. During holidays, they can work up to 38 hours in allowed job areas. Because of these rules, students can earn money and also learn real work skills.
Cyprus does not give a special post-study work visa. However, students may stay only if they find a job and the employer applies for a Work Permit. Therefore, students should plan early and look for other options on time.
Students cannot get Permanent Residency (PR) right after finishing their studies. However, they can still follow a simple path if they want to live in Cyprus for a long time:
First, after graduation, get a job offer from a company in Cyprus.
Next, ask the employer to apply for a Work Permit for you.
An important note here is that PR is usually given through long-term stay or investment. Student visa applicants cannot apply for a PR unless they work.
Now, to get Long-Term Residency, you must live in Cyprus legally for five years in a row.
But, time spent on a student visa does not fully count. So, you need more years of stay, usually by working.
For a faster option, you can choose the PR by Investment program. It needs you to buy property or make a money investment.
Finally, after keeping PR for some years and living in Cyprus, you may apply for citizenship.
