Scholarship Overview!

KOICA Scholarship is a fully-funded government scholarship for international students who wish to contribute to the socio-economic development of their countries. For this scholarship, a few select universities are offering a total of 8 courses (5 Master’s and 3 PhD). In this scholarship, the applications are first sent to the Korean Embassy. Then, embassy forwards the application to the university where we will apply for the university course. Then, original documents are requested by the embassy for final check. This scholarship has many benefits including economy-class flight ticket at arrival and departure of the scholar, one-time settlement allowance of KRW 600,000 for Master’s and KRW 1,200,000 for PhD, university dormitory accommodation, monthly allowance of KRW 1,200,000 per month, full tuition fee coverage as well as part of expenses for extracurricular activities such as study visits, workshops, Korean language classes, etc., national health insurance of approx. KRW 81,000 per month as well as private medical insurance for unexpected accidents, etc. One unique benefit of this scholarship is that it offers scholarship completion grants, which are paid once upon departure, worth KRW 300,000 for Master’s and KRW 600,000 for PhD. The deadline of KOICA Scholarship, South Korea is in July, 2025.

To be eligible for the KOICA Program Scholarship, applicants must meet specific academic, age, and residency requirements.

All applicants must be citizens of the specified countries (Success Chances automatically check it).

Employee Status and Government Nomination

All applicants must be government officials and receive official nominations from their respective governments for the KOICA Scholarship program.

Health Criteria

All applicants must be in good health, both mentally and physically, to study in Korea for the full duration of the program. Applicants with disabilities, but in good mental and physical health, are also eligible to apply.

Education and Work Experience

For Master’s, applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of work experience in the same field. For PhD, applicants must have a Master’s degree with 3 years of work experience in the same field.

Application Process!

Create an Account

You may check KOICA Scholarship official website or apply by creating a profile on WWAH. Click on Apply Now after creating your personalized profile through registered account. You can monitor your application and receive regular updates. Register here.

Get Government Nomination

The applicant must get nomination from a government agency/department they currently serve.

Submit Your Application

Complete your Personal and Educational details. Upload your documents (including government nomination) and double-check all information before submission.

Review & Submit

Before final submission, WWAH will provide a preview of the application. Double-check your entries and uploaded files. Once submitted, WWAH will generate your final application PDF and checklist.

Track Your Application

Once your application is submitted, you can monitor its progress through your personalized WWAH dashboard. Stay informed with real-time updates and notifications.

Interview (1st Round)

In the first phase, your application will be sent to the South Korean Embassy. If selected, you will be asked to appear for an interview at the embassy of your home country.

Document Screening

If you pass, the embassy will forward your application to the university. You will be contacted by the University you applied for, to submit the documents for screening. WWAH will help you prepare the required documents (as specified in the Required Documents section) and send them to the selected university.

Local Medical Check-Up

Applicant will be required to get a local medical check-up. The results will be checked for reference. The university will provide guidance regarding what they need (some may have additional requirements).

Interview (2nd Round)

After university requirements are fulfilled, you will be asked to attend another interview with the university panel.

Essay Test (If Required)

For some universities, essay tests are mandatory with the interview. However, you will be informed of such requirements beforehand, where you can make the decisions easily.

Submission of Original Documents in Embassy

Once you have cleared the university round, you can submit the original documents to the embassy.

Receive Your Offer Letter

If your application is successful, you'll receive an offer letter from the scholarship. Review the offer carefully and accept it through our portal.

Apply for a Visa

Once you've accepted an offer and received your visa letter, start the application process for getting the student visa (D-2). We'll provide guidance and resources to help you secure your student visa.

Vaccinations (If required)

Your university may ask you to get additional vaccines before traveling.

Plan Your Arrival

WWAH will assist in your travel planning, accommodation, pre-departure orientation, and settling into your destination.
