Scholarship Overview!

Each year Gates Cambridge offers fully and partially-funded scholarships to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a postgraduate degree (Master’s or PhD) in any subject available at the University of Cambridge. Approximately two-thirds of these awards will be offered to PhD students, with approximately 25 awards available in the US round and 55 available in the International round. Gates Cambridge Scholarship offers many benefits including, tuition fee coverage (varies for each student), maintenance allowance for full course duration, one round-trip airfare, and inbound visa cost (including immigration health surcharge). These are the basic benefits, but, upon request, you may be able to get additional funding approved for academic development fund for attending additional courses or conferences (between £500 to £2,000), dependent children allowance, fieldwork allowance (for maintenance only), maternity/paternity funding (up to 6 months), and hardship funding for facing any unforeseen circumstances. The deadline for Gates Cambridge Scholarship is usually in October for US round and in December or January (dependant on course) for International round.
