Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship is a fully-funded government scholarship that funds Bachelor's, One Tier Master’s (combination of Bachelor’s and Master’s into one), Master’s, and PhD degrees for international students. Hungary offers this scholarship with assigned partners across the world; for Pakistan, it is HEC. This scholarship offers numerous benefits such as full tuition fee coverage, monthly stipend of HUF 43,700 for Bachelor's and Master's, while HUF 140,000 (first phase) and HUF 180,000 (second phase) for PhD Degree. It also includes free dormitory or accommodation contribution of HUF 40,000, health insurance worth HUF 65,000 per person in a year, as well as a chance to experience new culture. The deadline for this scholarship usually falls in January each year.

To be eligible for the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship, applicants must meet specific academic, age, and residency requirements.
Nationality
Applicant must be a resident of any other country except Hungary.
Completed Intermediate Studies (for Bachelor’s)
Candidates must have completed intermediate before 01 August, 2026 for applying to Bachelor’s or One Tier Master’s program. Final degree and transcript must be submitted as proof.
Completed Master’s Studies (for PhD)
Candidates must have completed Master’s/MS/MPhil before 01 August, 2026 for applying to the PhD program. Final degree and transcript must be submitted as proof.
Incomplete Degree Status
Applicants enrolled in the last year of their existing study programs/degrees and result awaiting candidates are allowed to apply.
Complete Application Forms Submission
The applicant must fill all the fields of the application forms to Hungary scholarship and HEC. Incomplete forms will not be considered.
Attestation of the Documents
Attestation of educational documents is not required at the initial stage of the process. After the applicant has been nominated, certificates/transcripts/degrees to be attached must be attested by the attesting authorities such as IBCC and HEC. Equivalence of O & A level from IBCC is mandatory for Bachelor's and One-Tier Master's degree.
English Proficiency Certificate
Some Hungarian universities may require IELTS/TOEFL scores, whereas most of the institutions require English proficiency certificate for the admissions (attained from your respected college or universities).
Medical Certificate
All awarded applicants must submit medical certificate (issued not earlier than November 01, 2025) of satisfactory health condition. Template provided.
Bond on a Legal Paper
In case of final selection, applicants will have to submit a bond on legal paper to HEC that he/she will not change discipline after final award of scholarship, and immediately after completion of his/her degree, he/she will return to Pakistan to serve the country for a period as prescribed by the HEC. In case of failure to do so, HEC reserves the right to recover from candidate or his/her guarantor, a penalty amount as prescribed/decided by the HEC.
HAT or USAT Result
All applicants are required to provide HAT (for undergraduate) or USAT (for postgraduate) test scores. Applicant must have obtained a minimum score of 50% out of total marks in HAT or USAT test. The test validity for HAT is 02 years and USAT is 01 year. For this scholarship, applicant must have already obtained a valid HAT (score obtained on or after January 15, 2024) or USAT score (score obtained on or after January 15, 2025).

Interview and Entrance Exams
Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview at HEC. However, entrance exams are a MUST. Applicant should get at least 56 out of 100 marks to be considered for the scholarship.
