Chalmers University of Technology offers a vibrant sports and recreation environment primarily organized through the Chalmers Student Union and its main sports association, Chalmers Idrottssällskap (CIS). Facilities include a gym hall and sauna in the Student Union building, a campus climbing center called Kopparbunken, and access to the student-owned gym Fysiken. Housing is primarily managed by the student foundation Chalmers Studentbostäder (CSB), which provides furnished apartments often within a 10-minute walk of the Johanneberg campus. For students without a housing guarantee, such as non-fee-paying students, the market is competitive, and they are advised to join the housing queues with CSB and other agencies like SGS Studentbostäder as soon as possible, as the general waiting time in Gothenburg can be long.
