The Bachelor of Chemical Engineering program at Cleveland State University provides a comprehensive education in the principles and applications of chemical engineering. Course Structure

The Bachelor of Chemical Engineering program comprises core courses in chemical engineering principles, thermodynamics, transport phenomena, and reactor design, along with engineering science courses covering topics such as fluid mechanics, materials science, and engineering economy. Required mathematics courses include calculus and linear algebra. A significant portion of the curriculum involves chemistry courses, spanning general, organic, and physical chemistry. Students also complete a number of technical electives that address specific chemical engineering applications. An advanced science elective, typically a 300-level or higher course in either chemistry, physics, biology, or biomedical engineering, allows students to deepen their scientific expertise. Honors students have additional course requirements and a thesis component.
