Course Overview!

The Bachelor of Arts in Data Science at Clark University is an interdisciplinary program designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to understand and analyze the vast amounts of data generated in today's world. The curriculum blends theoretical foundations with practical applications, covering topics such as data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling. Students will learn to formulate problems, design data collection strategies, process and analyze data, and make informed decisions based on their findings. Course Structure

The Data Science major at Clark University requires 14 courses and offers five tracks of study: Computer Science, Economics, Geography/GIS, Management, and Mathematics. The curriculum includes two mathematics courses, two computer science courses, and four data science courses (at least two at the 200 level). Students must also complete six electives: four from one track (including at least one 200-level course) and two electives from any track. A capstone project, which can take the form of a 200-level course or an approved alternative like research or an internship, is also required. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, research opportunities, and professional development through internships and research opportunities both on and off campus.
