Course Overview!

The Business Analytics concentration at Boston College's Carroll School of Management equips students with the skills to leverage data for effective business decision-making. The curriculum integrates statistical methods, forecasting techniques, data mining, and modeling to transform raw data into actionable insights. Students learn to analyze past performance, predict future trends, and explore optimal strategies across various sectors, including finance, healthcare, technology, and the non-profit world. Course Structure

The Business Analytics concentration requires four courses: two required courses and two electives chosen from a list of options. Required courses include 'Machine Learning & AI' and 'Applied Statistical Modeling'. Electives provide flexibility allowing students to specialize their learning. Some electives include courses on AI in Business, Sports Analytics, Management Science, Forecasting for Business Analytics, Data Management for Analytics and Applications, Cybersecurity Strategy and Management, Data Visualization, Introduction to Blockchain and its Business Applications, Data Analytics in Finance, Active Portfolio Management, FinTech and Cryptocurrencies, and Customer Research and Marketing Decisions. The curriculum is designed for students graduating in 2027 and later; earlier graduating years have different requirements.
