Course Overview!

Ball State University's Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Social Studies Teaching is a comprehensive program designed to prepare students for rewarding high school teaching careers. Course Structure

The Social Studies Teaching major requires a total of 99 credit hours. The curriculum encompasses 54 hours of history and social science courses and 42 hours of professional education coursework and field experiences. History courses cover U.S. history, European history, world history, and specialized topics. Social science components equip students with knowledge of economics, geography, government/political science, psychology, and sociology. The program also includes coursework in teaching methodologies and pedagogical approaches suitable for diverse learners in varied school settings.
