Course Overview!

The Certificate in Aviation Hospitality Management at Auburn University is a collaborative program between the School of Aviation and the Horst Schulze School of Hospitality Management. It provides students with a strategic understanding of the aviation industry, focusing on customer service and management roles within the sector. The program aims to develop professional competency, enabling graduates to effectively represent companies and fill managerial positions that directly interact with customers. The certificate enhances the skills of students in aviation management, professional flight, and hospitality management, making them more competitive in the job market. It is open to all Auburn University students but is particularly designed to complement existing coursework.

Course Structure

The Certificate in Aviation Hospitality Management requires 15 semester hours. Aviation Management and Professional Flight students utilize 6 hours from their core curriculum and 9 hours from Hospitality Management. Hospitality Management students use 6 hours from their core and 9 hours from Aviation Management. Other students take two required courses from each program and choose one additional course from either program. For Aviation students, required courses include Introduction to Aviation, Commercial Aviation Safety, Introduction to Hospitality Management, Global Hospitality, and Science of Quality Service in Hospitality. Hospitality students take Introduction to Aviation, Air Transport Industry Development, Commercial Aviation Safety, Introduction to Hospitality Management, and Science of Quality Service in Hospitality. Other students select courses from both aviation and hospitality programs to fulfill the requirement.
