The MSc in Data Science and Business Analytics program at APU equips students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in data science, big data analytics, and business intelligence. The curriculum emphasizes the application of data science techniques to address modern business challenges and improve decision-making processes. Students gain proficiency in various data science tools and techniques, covering areas such as data collection, data analysis, data visualization, and business intelligence reporting. Real-world application is emphasized through mini-projects and a capstone project. The program also includes joint professional certifications and collaborations with industry partners.
The program consists of 11 coursework modules and a two-part capstone project. There are 8 core modules, including research methodology, and students choose one pathway (3 specialization modules). This structure allows for specialization in either Business Intelligence or Data Engineering. Prerequisites in mathematics, statistics, programming, and databases may be required for non-computing students. Core modules cover big data analytics, data management, business intelligence systems, applied machine learning, data analytic programming, and advanced business analytics.
