Course Overview!

The Master of Project Management program at APU is designed to cultivate professional and dedicated project managers equipped to lead and manage projects adhering to international standards. The curriculum provides core skills in project management processes and knowledge vital for delivering organizational value. It develops strategic thinking, leadership skills, and best practices. The program caters to both aspiring project managers and seasoned professionals seeking expertise enhancement. It emphasizes practical application and real-world scenarios, focusing on industry-relevant issues in contemporary markets. Students also develop advanced skills, research capabilities, and critical analysis of project management principles, improving their professional and academic abilities. The program is accredited by the Global Accreditation Center - Project Management Institute (GAC-PMI) and offers a dual accreditation option with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

Course Structure

The program consists of 12 coursework modules and a final project. Ten core modules are compulsory, including a research methodology module. Students must choose one pathway with two elective modules from the available options: Analytical Decision Making, Management, or Digitalisation. Prerequisite modules (Managing People, Understanding Customers, Managerial Finance, Business Environment & Strategic Planning) may apply to students from non-business backgrounds, requiring one month (full-time) or two months (part-time) to complete. Core modules cover project quality management, development and scope management, planning and scheduling, cost estimation and budgeting, principles and practices, communication and stakeholder management, procurement contract management, HR and leadership, and risk management. Elective modules offer specializations in strategic planning and systems development, quantitative methods for decision making, creativity and innovation management, organizational management, digital execution, and digital project management. The final project involves substantial research leading to an academic paper, business case study, or consultancy report.
