Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) traces its origins back to 1905 when it was initially established as a technical school in Nelson, New Zealand. In 1992, it became a polytechnic following the government’s reforms of tertiary education, formally establishing it as Nelson Marlborough Polytechnic.
